I am so excited for 2009! I am optimistic for another amazing year filled with new clients, past clients & so many awesome opportunities! I am pulling together my calendar for 2009 & I wanted to give a heads up as to what my availability will be as we begin to move towards spring.

*I am booking sessions NOW to begin in March & continue into the remainder of the year. I had a limited amount of availability for indoor/newborn/infant/special sessions & I am booked up through the end of February as it is much too cold now for outdoor sessions. (unless we have some hard core polar bear club members who want to venture out…I may be able to squeeze you in!) If you are wanting to book a session this spring…I encourage you to begin inquiring. My calendar will fill up fast…and once the warm weather begins…you may not get in if you wait!

*I will be out in Pennsylvania for 4-6 weddings this summer. I will most likely only have an extended stay to do portrait sessions in May and July. Exact dates are TBA once I confirm my airline reservations and stay time frames. If you are interested…please inquire asap as I can only photograph a select number of portrait sessions while I am there. A signed contract & your session fee will secure your date. All sessions are first come, first serve!

Newborn Session :: Baby Lacey

Happy New Year! I just realized that it has been nearly a MONTH since I have updated this blog! No real reason…I guess with the holidays & new year festivities…I got a bit side tracked that I hadn’t updated my blog!

Last Saturday, I spent the afternoon with a beautiful little baby girl…and her very special parents. You may remember Missi & Nate from earlier this fall…I had done a maternity session with them. Well, Miss Lacey made her grand appearance shortly before christmas…what a very special gift, huh?

When I got to Missi & Nate’s home….they had Lacey all ready to go…wrapped in a blanket…with just a diaper loosely on…and she was all fed and we were expecting a very tired little baby. Well, you know how it goes…usually the opposite. She was wide awake…ready to conquer the world. It was rather funny. But, eventually, she decided to just give up and take a deep snooze. I think Miss Lacey did very good for her first photo shoot. Okay, and mom & dad did good, too. Congratulations, Missi & Nate. She is so beautiful & it took every ounce of me not to take her home with me! I forget how tiny & cuddly they are! But, I admit…I probably would have given her back…:-) Enjoy your new little girl and I hope you enjoy your preview…

Brendan

I haven’t been blogging my sessions like I would like to because with holiday orders & time crunches…I have been putting pictures up in client proofing galleries right away, hence not really needing the preview on my blog for my clients. But, in the midst of a the blizzard we had today…I was able to work on a few blog updates.

This session was a mini-session! I had been wanting to get Brendan’s pictures taken…but with being so busy…I wasn’t able to get him in until mid-November. And by that time…it was a bit chilly…so we just did the pictures at my sister’s house. Brendan is my nephew and he is such a talented guy! He is an amazing athlete and LOVES music. He has taken up the electric guitar this past August and is seriously doing so awesome! I love hearing him play! So, his session was of him & some of his new best friend…his guitar.

He rocks…and he wants to be a rockstar someday. At the rate he’s going…anything is possible.

Family Session

Last week, I spent the afternoon with a fun family! We went to the Fairlawn Museum in Superior. They had a pretty large group of 18 people…so finding a place indoors was difficult. The museum worked fine and we managed to get everyone photographed! Sometimes as a photographer…we face very challenging lighting situations…and this was one of those times. It was a bit darker than I had anticipated from being in there previously…but, we made the best of our surroundings as we had no other options…it was only 10 degrees outside! The grounds outdoors at the museum are very pretty…but…it was just too incredibly cold & windy. Everything worked out in the end! Enjoy your preview! Your gallery is uploading as I type!

Portrait Session

I’ve been MIA with my blog, I know. I’ve been extremely busy with editing, fulfilling orders & prints…so my blogging has been kind of on the backburner! I’ve got several more sessions to blog…but if I don’t get to them all…it’s just this time of year!!!

The cold Wisconsin air didn’t keep us from having a great session!!! It was quite cold…but we just did things quick & in between…they went in the house to warm up. I had a lot of fun! And I think everyone else did, too. Carson is turning 4 this month…so we took a few more of him! Enjoy!

The Holidays Are Coming!!!

Well, holiday orders are well under way! I have been having a wonderful time working on holiday orders, greeting cards and my own photos as well. We had beautiful weather a few weeks ago…so I took advantage of the nice days & got my holiday photos of my children done! Although my youngest child was not in the most “photographing” mood…we had a lot of fun & I am glad that my photos are done!

I just wanted to remind everyone that although christmas is a little ways away…all holiday orders must be submitted by December 5th to ensure holiday delivery! I also wanted to let all clients from 2008 know…if you did a session with me & would like to order holiday cards or wallets/4×6′s to share with your family & friends…please let me know! I can custom design a card for you or you can choose from several of my already designed templates. SHOOTSAC…by Jessica Claire

Sometimes when I am out on location shooting a session, I get questions or comments about that “bag” or “thing” I have slung around my side. And let me tell you…of the many photography accessories that I have…the Shootsac, by Jessica Claire, is by far my “I can’t live without” item!

When I was really getting into photography, last fall, one of the girls at my sister’s wedding who was assisting was sporting this adorable bag! Once I went over & took a look at it…I knew I had to have one. So, once I got home…I went online & looked at them & saw she was going to have a booth at the PDN Photo Expo in NY that I was going to attend…so I waited until then & purchased my first Shootsac…on sale I might add I loved it. It was perfect for using with my photo sessions to keep all of my lenses & memory cards & extra batteries in. It was comfortable & stylish! I have been using the Shootsac for over a year now & I use it ALL the time & it still looks like new. Very durable & easy to clean! I have 3 covers & I love them all! They are addictive! And she just came out with 7 new covers!!!

The moral of the story…if you are a photographer & need something to hold some of your gear in while shooting sessions that is not only comfortable, but customizable with tons of awesome, trendy styles…look no further! I can’t go anywhere without it! And, I accidently did forget my shootsac for a session a few weeks ago…and let me tell you…I felt so lost without it. Lugging around that stinkin’ camera bad was such a chore that I do not miss. And most importantly…Jessica is an awesome gal & an amazing photographer. She hit this one right on the head with the shootsac! THANK YOU, JESSICA!

I have a solid black cover, an awesome cover with big polka dots on it (I think it is discontinued now) and the limited edition one that she sold on her birthday. I am planning on getting a new one that she just introduced at some point. Maybe a christmas present.

Email Address Change/Updates

Hello! I know I had sent an email with the new changes to my email address as of September 1, however, many of you are still emailing me to my former email address. I will not longer be accepting emails to my former account, so please be sure to update my new email address to your address book in your inbox. Some people mentioned that my new email has been occasionally going to their SPAM/BULK inbox, so be sure to add me to your address book so I will not be considered spam/bulk. Otherwise, you may not receive or see any of my email replies. I currently have 3 email addresses and am trying to “simplify” and eliminate some of the unneccessary emails.
